Well we are 7 days away from the April 24th release of Ubuntu 8.04. I myself plan to download and burn an image of the distro asap. Which unfortunatly will be a few days after because the server traffic will be tremendous I predict. Ever notice how Linux or opensource companies are better at meeting deadlines than propietary companies? I for one was wondering if I would ever see Vista on the shelves of Wal-Mart after Microsoft kept moving back the release date. Some great things are instore for the new Ubuntu release. I have read sources of it including Firefox 3, the latest OpenOffice.org release and the latest Thunderbird. Sun is going to certify this distrobution on all of its x86 server lines. We all know that servers are Linux’s bread and butter and this certification may lead to more businesses adopting Ubuntu. I forgot to mention this distrobution is LTS or (Long Term Support). Which means the server version will be supported for five years and three years of support for the desktop version. On the media side their is going to be music stores intergrated with Rythmbox and Fspot with Flickr. Also, 8.04 will have intergration with MythTV. These features should attract new users and be a bonus to current users as well. I will be giving a full review of the distro so check back again soon.
