Updated blog to Wordpress 2.5

Today I updated DoubeB TV to the latest version of Wordpress 2.5. The update went without a hitch and it added some new features. The overall interface got a face lift and now you have a media management link in dashboard that allows you to manage all your uploaded media in one place. When you are writing a post there is a new media tool bar that allows you to upload a photo or video . And you have the option to just add the photo or video’s url to add the media to the post. You can add an audio file using the media tool bar as well. Also, the tool bar allows you to add media from files you uploaded to the media manager. To sum it up, I would say that the new features give Wordpress a better user experience with the addition of easier media content management.

Wordpress Updated.

I successfully updated my Wordpress install on my server to the newest version 2.3.3. My hosting provider only offered the 2.3.2 version through Fantastico and at the time of the install of Wordpress the new version was already released. Folks, I was nervous about updating but the update was an urgent security patch and had a few minor bug fixes. But luckely Wordpress has an excellent community and great tutorials for such a procedure. I used an FTP program which is an extension for Firefox entitled: Fire FTP. I uploaded the new Wordpress installation files after downloading them from Wordpress’s website. I followed the tutorial step by step and everything went without a hitch!
